Better Late Than Never?? [Trip west in June]

We took our annual trip west this summer and decided to go south thru Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and finally up to Utah. While in New Mexico we went to Carlsbad Caverns (cave #2 for us this year).

Carlsbad Caverns is "WOW"! We have been to Mammoth Cave, and probably 20+ other "show caves", but none can compare to Carlsbad Caverns. It was huge!

We took two guided tours and one long self guided tour.

One of our guided tours was a "lantern tour". One time per day they guide about 20 people into a locked part of the cave. One the way in, we could only use our lanterns, on the way out they let us use flashlights. It was very interesting.

Carlsbad, NM is located south of Roswell, NM. Everything in Roswell seems to be themed around UFO's. Even WalMart and all the fast food places had UFO signs on them. Luckily we didn't see ant UFO's while we were there.

This is the Navajo Bridge crossing the Colorado River. The right side is newer and is for cars, the left side is now only for pedestrians.

We went to St. George in southern Utah and stayed 2 days.

While in St. George we went out and saw some dinosaur tracks.

Can you see the tracks in the sandstone?
