We arrived in Washington DC on Sunday evening and were ready to go the next day. We stayed in Bethesda and rode the Metro into D.C. It was a bit of a trick to figure out the tickets for all of us, but it was a good learning experience. We went to the Smithsonian and saw the Air and Space and the Natural History Museums. We then walked the mall to the War Memorials and Lincoln Memorial. We really thought we had walked far until we realized that we were going to miss the changing of the guard at Arlington if we didn't hurry. There wasn't time to walk back to the metro station. So we walked across the Potomac river Bridge and hussled up the hill to see the changing of the guard. We were SO tired that night and felt like we had walked our feet off.
