Fall Time

Fall time is one of my favorite times of year. I love to see the beautiful leaves and enjoy the weather. We got some cool gourds from Rick's work. Check out the big pumpkin Spencer is on. But this year was a different story, we got one weekend of leaves and the rest were full of rain. We had a total of 12.4 inches. My flowers were amazing this year and our tree in the back yard was beautiful.

A Night at the MUNY

Rick got tickets from work for the Muny, it's an outdoors musical theatre in the summer. they have week long show through out the summer. Sometimes it can be quite hot, but it wasn't too bad wednesday night because of a breeze. We took Michael and Spencer to see, "Annie". Jeremy had to work. It was a great show. The boys thought they were going to have a terrible time, but they enjoyed it a lot. We had great seats, second row. The boys were really impressed. It was so fun to be able to see the actors so close you could watch the spit fly out of their mouths. Here's a picture of the stage from our seats.

Spencer Update

Spencer is a really fun boy. This summer he decided that he wanted to play baseball. (He's the fifth from the left in the blue shirt, really tall kid) Rick and I aren't really the best sports parents, unless it's with race cars, love the races! But Spencer really wanted to play and when Spencer wants to do something, he is very persistant! So far, they have won all their games and Spencer has hit a few singles and doubles. He even caught a fly ball. This last game almost did me in though, It was HOT!!! A heat index over 100, the sweat just pours off of you in this humidity. It took us hours to cool back down. My kids were kinda laughing at me because I am always cold but not when it is this HOT. Thank heavens the heat spell has broken and we are in for some 80 degree days this week.
Spencer is also into watches. He likes to wear them all at one time on his arm. It reminds me of the ape in the Richard Scarry books. He just likes to have them all on. He even wore them out to dinner the other night. Rick and I asked if he really wanted to do that and he said yes. Gotta love this kid! He knows what he wants and isn't afraid of what others may think!

Spencer at the Zoo

Spencer's class had a fun day at the Zoo. He and has buddies dubbed themselves, "the monkeys". Believe me, they were very active and a lot of fun to go to the zoo with. Spencer is the one in the baseball cap.

World War Two Weekend

We went to South County to see Jason and Brianna's possible new house on Saturday and thought we would explore the area. We went to Jefferson National Barracks Park and it was a World War Two Weekend. So a lot of people were there doing mock battles and dress up. We got to see a lot of WWII equipment and the boys got can openers. It was fun for all the boys.

Boys and Trees

We had really nice weather for Spring Break. I got a few photos of the boys climbing trees. Jeremy even let me take a picture of him. Shocking, I know!

Spencer's Broken Arm

He's joined the broken bone club. Saturday, Spencer took Terra for a walk, but it turns out she took him for a RUN. She can really get going and Spencer tripped. He tried to save himself with his hand. Unfortunately, he landed too hard and broke it. We didn't know it at the time because it didn't swell and after some Advil it didn't hurt. He had full mobility in the hand. But we kept it wrapped because he said it felt better that way, and of course, he tried to stay home on Sunday. Come Monday he seemed fine but was unable to hold a can of beans in the hand. So Mom took him to the Doctor, who took an X-Ray and said it is a "Buckle Fracture". He could have a stinky cast for the next three weeks or a splint. We chose the splint because he can still wash his hand and it won't itch. Spencer was looking forward to having his class sign his cast. Better luck next time, Spencer!
